A single Gator-Grip® socket instantly fits the full range of hex nuts and bolts from 1/4" to 3/4" and 7mm to 19mm in addition to odd shapes such as wing nuts, square nuts, broken nuts, eyebolts and hooks. Comprised of a 3/4" socket containing 54 spring-biased hardened steel pins, Gator-Grip® has a rugged design that has been tested up to 200 foot pounds of torque. Gator-Grip® is manufactured in the USA and distributed by Endeavor Tool Company, a hand tool company co-founded by the principals of WorkTools.

When the idea for a universal socket with springs and pins came to WorkTools, the company researched worldwide patent records to learn more about designs that used similar concepts.  We found related designs that dated back to 1918.  We  believed that previous attempts at universal sockets had failed because the designs were expensive to manufacture and had performed poorly.  Our mission was to create a universal socket that could be mass produced at low cost, able to deliver top performance for a wide range of uses and capable of withstanding a lifetime of real world punishment.  WorkTool’s design for Gator-Grip® met all of these goals.  Three US patents have been granted #5,622,090, 5,791,209, and D-385,762.  Many more patents have been issued and are pending worldwide.
